Totoro, Totoro...

If you've read my 2011 post Totoro & Pullips you'll know I'm a big Studio Ghibli fan... 

At the end of last year someone posted some hats for sale via Pullip Fiction and I could not resist one of the hats she had for sale... I'm not going to go into details but there was a mix up with my order... Anyhow, the lady was really nice and sent me the original hat and also an additional hat as an apology! Even through the mix up, the hats I recieved are PERFECT and I could not recommend her more...

Among other things Desiree G. makes lovely character hats, her Etsy shop is called Aint That Cunnin. I would highly recommend ordering from her! :)  The other rather impressive hat I will feature in another blog...

Aaaand... back to Ghibli...

I've been wanting to feature my Catbus (which was a present from Mongoose Holly for my Birthday last year!!!) in a Pullip shoot for ages and I now had the perfect opportunity!!! 

Thank you Holly, I think Catbus is enjoying himself a little too much with the pretty young girl... :S

I have a blog search set up in my google reader to show any posts on Studio Ghibli, and when I knew this hat was coming, I started collecting posts I liked to put in this blog!!!

Pullip Fan Art...

So... I nearly always start my posts with so, I have to stop that!

I managed to pick up a little pen friend from Pullip Fiction called Naomi (aka minipinkpullip101). We've written a couple of times and she sends me pictures, so I have felt I need to get back into my drawing again. 

I went to art college, so its not as if its completely unknown to me, its just I haven't drawn properly in years! After doing Graphic Design for so long, it kinda meant I wasn't drawing properly that often, and I've kinda got very rusty!

The first letter I just did a couple of quick pictures done in pen and crayon, but I wasn't all that impressed with them...

Maybe its the harshness of the lines? Especially on the nose, the picture that RanSurround did (featured in Birthday Treats) has very few details on the face... Well anyway, I decided to get back to my forte of chalk and charcoal! I chose a picture and got started! It took me ages - I actually can't remember the last time I did a chalk & charcoal, its got to be about 10 years!! So anyway, the result is below!

The face shape isn't quite right but overall I'm really pleased! I think I'm gonna try and do this more often - well - when I have a spare 3 or 4 hours! I reckon, the more I do, the better I get!

It feels good to be drawing again!!

Who's who...

My Ma asked me to do this as she keeps getting confused as to who is who, so I did a little family tree type thing...

I have to update the bio's soon but for the moment this will do! I decided as Myste and Wroenna have similar colour eyes (and I don't plan to re-chipping Wroenna) they would be cousins, I don't quite know how this will fit into the bio's yet but I'm sure I'll work it out!!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

I don't really 'do' valentines day, to me its just a day created by greetings card companies to encourage people to buy stuff they don't need, plus, if my fella wants to tell me he loves me, he can do that any day, preferably everyday, but it shouldn't be forced by telling everyone they have to so this is one of my stands in non-conforming... anyway, you probably don't care, you probably want to hear about dolls...

So anyway, I was doing a shoot today for some new items I will be putting on my shop soon and couldn't resist sharing these shots!!
